NEW YORK, 22 September 2017 - The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, President of the Republic of Cyprus. The Secretary-General welcomed Cyprus’ commitment to the United Nations and the Government’s support to the current efforts to reform the Organisation.

The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the current status of the Cyprus talks, as well as its future.

The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to Cyprus, including the availability of his good offices for the sides to resume the talks as soon as the sides demonstrate their readiness to re-engage.
