Meeting of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Leaders takes place in the United Nations Protected Area, Nicosia

The Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Tufan Erhürman, met today on 9 September 2026, hosted by the United Nations Good Offices Mission in Cyprus. The meeting took place ahead of the leaders’ expected travel to New York, where they are due to hold separate meetings with United Nations officials on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly high-level week.
