The Special Adviser of the Secretary-General (SASG) on Cyprus, Mr. Espen Barth Eide, hosted a dinner for the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, at the historic Ledra Palace Hotel on 2 April 2017.
Earlier that evening, SASG Eide and Deputy SASG Ms. Elizabeth Spehar met Cypriots from both communities who converged outside the venue of the dinner to urge the leaders to continue their efforts towards a building peaceful future for the island. Members of the gathering presented a petition to DSASG Spehar, who received it on behalf of the leaders.
