Representatives of the Two Cypriot Leaders Meet Ahead of Leaders’ Meeting

The representatives of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, Mr. Menelaos Menelaou and Mr. Mehmet Dânâ, respectively, together with their teams, met earlier today under the auspices of the United Nations Good Offices Mission in Cyprus.

The meeting took place at the direction of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Ms. María Ángela Holguín, as part of preparations for the upcoming meeting of the two leaders next week.

The discussions provided an opportunity for the representatives and their teams to continue preparatory work ahead of the leaders’ engagement.

The United Nations Good Offices Mission in Cyprus supports the work of the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy in the peace process and facilitates the 13 Technical Committees, helping sustain dialogue, build trust and address issues of importance across the island.
