The Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Ms. María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, returned to the island on 4 December 2025 and will be holding meetings with the leaders of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities as well as with other stakeholders before she departs on 12 December. On 11 December 2025, the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Tufan Erhüman, will jointly visit the Committee on Missing Persons along with the Personal Envoy at 15:15. They will then hold a joint meeting at the UN Good Offices Mission, under the facilitation of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General at 16:00. Both leaders will then proceed to an informal reception hosted by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) Mr. Khassim Diagne.
