26 Oct 2016 - 26 October 2016 - The Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, and the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, have decided to continue the Cyprus talks in Mont Pelerin, Switzerland from 7th to 11th November. This intensive week of negotiations will be conducted under the auspices of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Mr. Espen Barth Eide.
21 Jun 2016 - NICOSIA, 21 June 2016 - In light of the difficult situation with continuing fires on the island, the Greek Cypriot leader Mr. Nicos Anastasiades has requested to postpone today’s leaders’ meeting. 08 Jun 2016 - 08 June 2016 - The Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, met under the auspices of the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General (SASG) Mr. Espen Barth Eide, on 8th June 2016. Building on their joint statement of 15th May 2016, they had a very constructive exchange of views on the methodology of the talks and agreed to intensify their negotiations.
15 May 2016 - Today marks the first anniversary of our talks as the two Leaders as well as our commitment to work tirelessly to reach a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus question on the basis of the Joint Statement of February 2014. This has been a year of intensive negotiations and we, as the two Leaders, would like to express our satisfaction with the essential progress that has been achieved to date.
