Connecting arts brings together artists from across the divide
Looking back over the year, in May 2024 over 60 Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot artists, academics and experts came together under the auspices of of Office of the Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on Cyprus at the Technical Committee on Culture’s Connecting Arts 2 event and engaged in inspiring discussions in the thematic areas of Music, Cinema, Literature, Folk Arts, Performing Arts and Fine Arts.
Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot artists and artist-academics connected in a space where they were able to share information about their work as well as create new ties for those who do not know each other.
These sessions provided a platform for meaningful exchanges, fostering connections and a deeper understanding of the diverse artistic landscape in Cyprus. The event culminated in a lively performance by local musicians from both communities.
The Technical Committee on Culture’s Connecting Arts 2 event was funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP in coordination with OSASG-Cyprus.
